How to use I and I’m

One mistake many people do is to confuse I’m with I. Actually it is quite simple to remember. Try to remember these two different ways of using I or I am (I’m).

I – when you do/did/ or will do something

  • I go to Udon Thani / I care about you / I read a book
  • I will go to Bangkok
  • I went to Phuket

I’m (I am) – When you are doing something at the very moment. Right now! Comes always together with the verb as Gerund (-ing)

  • I am going home
  • I am swimming
  • I am reading
  • I am jumping
