Twitter buys Tweetie, Google’s on speed & Microsoft needs a buzz | Saturday Morning News

3 short and sweet breaking news for saturday morning:

Twitter announced that it’s going to take over Atebit’s Tweetie. One of the best twitter clients (Tweetie for Mac, iPhone) so far and announced further that there might be an iPad version soon. And last but not least twitter announced that it’s gonna be free. So there will be a free official twitter.com twitter client. Guess that puts quite some pressure on the other client developers.

Google said in an official blogpost, that size speed does matter. So what I (and a lot of other SEO guys) preach for years is now official. Site speed has a huge impact on ranking. Wohooo. A lot of SEO people out there now try to talk a lot about it. But honestly, that’s nothing new for those who did their job well so far.

Microsoft is said to be interested in a Google Buzz pendant. Since a lot of us don’t use google buzz on a regular basis, Microsoft might have seen some potential in it and want’s to participate in real time business.

And last, but not least, for the german speaking audience: with sparbon.de there is a new groupon-style website online. Looks like there are quite some interesting partners on board. So as long as you are from germany, you might want to check it out.
